NEW EMAIL ADDRESS

July 25, 2011

After all my recent problems with my gmail being hacked into, I now have a new email address. As I reply to your emails from now on you will all see the new address (I’m being understandably wary about typing the new address here) any emails you send me to my old addresses will reach me, and the replies will come from my new address. PLEASE ONLY USE THE NEW ADDRESS ONCE YOU HAVE IT!

WORRY

July 19, 2011

Motivational speaker, Earl Nightingale said that:
• 40% of what we worry about never happens because it is somewhere in the nebulous future and may never happen.
• 30% is about things in the past. All the worry in the world cannot change the past.
• 12% is about your health, and over 95% of health care is self care anyway, yet you manage to pre-occupy yourself with unrealistic health worries – even to the extent that you don’t trust your natural instincts about what is right or not right in personally healing yourself.
• 10% are over minor, trivial issues. Petty miscellaneous worries that drive us mad but they are so real that they steal our precious optimism, faith and will to do something.
• 8% of your worries are legitimate.
• ‘Don’t Make A Mountain Out Of A Molehill’:
• In other words 92% of your worries are in a fog. It robs you of your peace of mind, steals your happiness and takes away your hopes for the future. Worrying will jeopardise your health, it will limit your life. Don’t dwell in the past and don’t agonise over the future this alone can do away with 80% of our worries. The test is to live in the present.
• We have 60,000 thoughts a day, 95 % of them are the same as yesterday and the day before that and the day before that and to add to all that 80% are habitual negative thoughts. Doubt, fear, judgement and the like, what the Buddhist calls ‘monkey minds’, your thoughts going round in a never ending loop.
• Financial security, what is it? Money alone cannot help; you must learn another type of wellth: intelligence, intuition, perseverance, faith, and will, the wellth of family and friends.

VICTIMISED

July 12, 2011

Yesterday I was the victim of an email scam. An email was sent to all the people in my address book asking for money for my release from captors in Valencia, Spain. For the most part people saw it for what it was and ignored it. A few were genuinely concerned and rang the number or sent an email for more information. Throughout the day I received numerous phone calls asking after my well being.
It was initially a horrible feeling and I felt as if I had been burgled or molested in some way. After a while I began to be concerned for all those people, some of whom I don’t know very well, who were receiving this vile email. What could I do? I responded to all the calls that were on my answering machine and I spoke to people I hadn’t spoken to for a long time and so the upside was that I was in touch with old friends.
I have read about these wretched emails and received warnings but thought myself impervious to such a trick for who am I? Not anybody of any great importance. To think that some of you would consider sending money to help my release was both touching and frightening. Please be aware, make sure that your security on your computer is reviewed at regular intervals and take a deep breath before responding to an alarming email.
